Thunder Bay is on the North Shore of Lake Superior among the norwesters.  Easy sport crags, multi-pitch rock and ice climbs, and full-on technical scrambles are within 15 minutes drive from anywhere in the city.  Limitless opportunities await those keen on developing new routes.

The Thunder Bay section is involved in community projects such as Project Peregrine, OBEEK and the Annual Bluffs Clean-up.  Run entirely by enthusiastic volunteers, the section provides a number of outdoor skills and leadership development opportunities.  We welcome everyone from beginning to advanced climbers and scramblers.  As one of the most active sections, we host a number of events including rock and ice climbing clinics, weekend climbing trips, high angle rescue courses and the Banff Film Festival Tour.  Check our events calendar for details and dates.
